Wear And Tear On Metal Flashings

Aerial View

On this particular roof, this skylight was originally installed using galvanized metal for the flashings. Due to retained moisture and a high level of tree debris, the metal rusted out before the cedar shake roof did. We installed baked enamel top pan metal and side step flashings that will now last as long as the roof.

The new cedar shakes installed will blend into the same color as the older shakes within the first year.
