Gresham Roof Maintenance
You wouldn’t drive your car endlessly without maintaining it from time to time. That would not only dramatically reduce your car’s expected longevity, but potentially make it horribly unsafe by making key components more likely to fail. The same can be said for your roof: leaving it in the elements for years without maintenance can dramatically reduce its longevity and even cause it to fail prematurely, leaving you and your home exposed. At Roof Life of Oregon, we offer comprehensive Gresham roof maintenance services that reinforce your roof’s protection and extend its longevity for years to come.

How Often Should I Maintain My Roof?
Much like your car, your roof should receive regular maintenance in order to ensure its longevity and ongoing protection. Even a brand-new roof needs regular attention, and we recommend adding roofing services to your yearly home maintenance routine to ensure your home remains protected and free from the burdens that a faulty or problem-stricken roof can bring.
There are two types of regular maintenance that should be done once a year each. Gutter cleaning involves removing debris from your rain gutters to remove blockages and obstructions that could prevent your gutters from working and damage your roof. We recommend doing this just before the start of the rainy season, so in late summer or early fall. Algae and moss removal should take place at the end of spring, as the wet season starts to come to a close. Over time, constant humidity and exposure to moisture can cause moss and algae to grow on your roof, and these natural pests can cause serious damage to your roof’s materials—especially for organic or natural roofing materials like cedar shakes.
We provide maintenance for all types of roofing materials, including:
- Asphalt shingles
- Cedar shakes
- Clay or concrete tiles
- Composite shingles
- Metal roofs

Roof Maintenance FAQ
How much does roof maintenance cost?
There are loads of different factors that can influence the cost of your maintenance service. Larger roofs will naturally cost more to maintain, but certain types of materials that require more work to maintain will also drive up costs. Smaller roofs and low-maintenance materials will bring costs down. We recommend calling to receive a personalized quote.
How do you remove moss and algae from my rooftop?
Algae and moss removal is done using a low-pressure water jet and a chemical compound designed to loosen moss and algae from rooftops. The low-pressure scrubber is so the water jet isn’t strong enough to damage roof materials or remove granules, and the specialized cleaner is designed to be safe for use in virtually any setting, including homes with pets and young children. Once the cleaner is applied, we give it a few minutes to work and then blast away the debris using the pressure washer for a clean and renewed roof.
What safety precautions do you take when working on a roof?
Every technician undergoes monthly safety training to ensure they always prioritize their safety and your safety as a homeowner. We also equip every tech working on your rooftop with the latest safety equipment to ensure they have what they need to do their job. We also are fully insured as a company to protect you and your property.
